Here we are today - - - - - - - -

- - - - - - with a real "brick and mortar" store front, servicing over 20,000
customers world wide. As you can see below, we have a lot of file folders.

Since March, 1997 every transaction has been recorded and preserved in a file
folder and in our computer's data base.

At
the present time, The CPAP Store LLC employees eight full time individuals that
make things happen. All employees serve in a variety of roles. In the same
office are Michelle and the CPAP Man. Michelle serves in Customer Service and
doubles as the Purchasing Agent and Chief of Staff. Michelle is usually
available and willing to solve sleep disorder problems also.
Sandy
is our chief Order Entry person that knows where every file folder is, what has
happened with each order, and why something didn't get shipped.
Alice, the Financial Whiz-Bang or Chief Financial Officer, keeps us afloat
financially and makes sure that our financial records are accurate and in order.
Tanna is our Returns Authorization specialist. Now we know where our loaner
machines are. She also serves with Sandy doing data entry so the orders get out
timely. She is also in charge of our credit card processing.
Sandy is the Shipper-Whipper and is in charge of putting the orders in the
box and getting them out the door.
Cecilia is our seamstress. She makes all the CONJO Custom and Standard
Headgear, Insulation Sleeves, Mask Covers, and other items that we manufacture.
She was a professional dress maker for 27 years.
The Start:
Started in March 1997, with a desire, a prayer, and a credit
card, in a bedroom of our two bedroom apartment with a desk, a computer, a
phone, a cell phone, a fax machine, and a web site. There was a bed in the
bedroom. The desk was an old door set across two, two drawer file cabinets that
I bought from Goodwill.
Supply items and mask parts were laid on the bed. The machines were set
against the wall. The kitchen table served as a shipping table. Since there
weren't very many orders between March and September of 1997, it was not a
inconvenience.
The Power of the Web:
In September of 1997, a book purchased online from a SPAM ad,
turned everything around and the "rest is history", as they say.
The book was, "The UnFair Advantage Book on Winning the Search Engine
Wars" published by Planet Ocean Communications, for a price of $100.00 and a
one year subscription to their newsletter. It showed how to build your web site
so the search engines would rank you high in their ranking system. At one time,
using the search word CPAP, the top seven ranked sites on Google were all CONJO
Distributing, former name of The CPAP Store LLC.
Competition was very limited. The other CPAP providers were Phoenix CPAP and
Bill's Seattle CPAP. Bill's Seattle CPAP has closed and the owner is now a
representative for Fisher & Paykel in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.
Rags to Success:
In 1997, the total dollar volume of sales was less than
$100,000.00. In 1998 total sales exceed $250,000.00. 1999 sales nearly doubled.
In 2000 sales volume was nearly $750,000.00.
In September of 2000, The CPAP Store moved from the bedroom to a 760 square
foot apartment unit and Michelle came on board. In May, Cecilia became the
official seamstress, relieving the CPAP Man from sewing headgear and insulation
sleeves.
In July of 2001, Alice came on board and began the long and tedious task of
straightening out the severely messed up financial records. Connie, the Little
Big Boss or the CPAP Man's wife started helping out with shipping and order
entry. The sales volume exceeded $1,000,000.00.
January 1, 2002, The CPAP Store became The CPAP Store LLC. On March 15, 2002,
The CPAP Store LLC moved from the 760 square foot apartment to an 800 square
foot office space with an additional 900 square foot warehouse area in a
commercial building. Aaron Bailey joined the staff just in time to help move. In
May Sandy joined or ranks. In July an additional 600 square feet of office area
was acquired in the same building. Sales volume for 2002 exceeded $1,250,000.00.
In October 2003, Tanna came on board to take care of Return Authorizations
and find some of our 100 plus loaner machines. We also acquired an additional
600 square feet of office space so the shipping room could be expanded and
office conditions could be enhanced.
Currently, The CPAP Store LLC employees eight full time employees and
occupies more then 2,900 square feet of office, shipping, and warehouse space.
Sales volume is projected to hit $1.5 million.
This business would not have been possible without Divine Leadership. I am a
Christian and know that God is the inspiration behind any success that we have
experienced.
